APRIL 5TH - Experience an evening of traditional and innovative Romani music with Via Romen, featuring Eastern European Romani musicians and dancers led by Vadim Kolpakov, the King of the 7-string Gypsy guitar. Joining them is Austin's own world Romani artist, Oliver Rajamani, who brings a unique fusion of Gypsy folk from India, European Romani, and Texas Americana. Don't miss this one-night event in Austin, where the incredible sounds of Via Romen will be complemented by an opening performance from Oliver Rajamani.
About Via Romen: Via Romen is a music and dance ensemble that combines Romani (Gypsy) music and dances with jazz and Latin rhythms. They also perform from Europe and Russia. Some say that Via Romen is the US's most fiery folk and modern Gypsy music and dance band.
About Oliver Rajamani:
Oliver Rajamani is a world-renowned Texas musician who plays original music that incorporates Romani and Indian folk, as well as Texas Americana. He has toured internationally and performed with artists such as Willie Nelson, Edie Brickell, and Gypsy Kings. He has also been featured on NPR BBC radio, Klru PBS, and other radio, TV, and magazine stations.
