Dance, Love, and Legacy Unite in Austin Dance India’s “LOVE BEYOND TIME”

May 2025. Austin, Tx ~ This May, Austin audiences will be transported through centuries of human emotion as Austin Dance India (ADI) presents LOVE BEYOND TIME, a mesmerizing Bharata Natyam performance that brings ancient stories of love to vivid life through movement, music, and poetry.

Under the visionary artistic direction of Anuradha Naimpally, an Austin Arts Hall of Famer and acclaimed performer, this production offers more than a dance recital—it’s a journey through the universal language of love. Audiences will experience traditional and abstract dance pieces exploring affection, longing, vulnerability, and the power of connection, portrayed with the elegance and expressiveness that Bharata Natyam is known for.

The event features two performances at the Dougherty Arts Center (1110 Barton Springs Blvd):🕰 Friday, May 30 at 7:30 PM🕰 Saturday, May 31 at 2:00 PM

The production stars Austin-based dancers Purna Bajekal, Soumya Nagesh, and Naimpally herself, accompanied by an exceptional lineup of musicians from across the globe:

  • NN Siva Prasad, vocalist (Mumbai, India)

  • Kesavan Ramamurthi, mridangam percussionist (Delhi, India)

  • Uma Mahesh, violinist (Dallas, TX)

  • Surabi Veeraragavan, nattuvangam artist (Houston, TX)

Guests can also browse artisan-crafted clothing and jewelry and enjoy authentic Indian concessions in the lobby—making the experience a feast for all the senses.

Celebrating its 35th anniversary, Austin Dance India has long stood as a beacon of cultural enrichment in Central Texas, offering high-quality performances and education in Bharata Natyam. Through her leadership, Naimpally—whose unique upbringing bridges East and West—has made Indian classical dance accessible and resonant to diverse audiences.
