Sept 6th, Austin Tx ~ Can you feel the energy building? It’s that time again—SEF Dandia Dhamaka 2025 lit up Austin with an evening that celebrated joy, tradition, and purpose. Organized by the Austin chapter of Sankara Eye Foundation, the event brought together families, friends, and community members to dance with heart and raise funds to help eradicate curable blindness in India.
The doors opened at 5:30 PM, and attendees were already lined up, dressed in their festive best. Outside, authentic Indian food vendors had set up vibrant stalls, filling the air with the aroma of classic street foods that perfectly matched the festive spirit.

The program kicked off at 6:30 PM with a lively free Dandia workshop by Monsoon Dance, giving beginners the confidence to step onto the dance floor. By 7:00 PM, the much-anticipated live band began, with Preetysha and Sameer alongside Shree Shakti delivering electrifying music that set the tone for the night. The energy in the hall was contagious as dancers of all ages joined in, circling and clapping in rhythm.
During halftime show, performances kept the crowd engaged and entertained. Monsoon Dance, Navrus, Muqabla, and Austin Dance School showcased dynamic routines that highlighted the creativity and talent of Austin’s performing arts community.

At 8:30 PM, emcee Nupur Sharma introduced the chief guest, Mr. Gopi Parampalli, who honored platinum sponsors with plaques, recognizing their vital role in supporting Sankara Eye Foundation’s mission. The stage was alive not only with performances but also with gratitude.
The night continued to build momentum. Chorus singers filled the venue with traditional melodies. The featured artist joined, bringing a new wave of energy to the dance floor. The live band closed their powerful set around 10:30 p.m. , but the celebration wasn’t over. DJ Nish took over, turning the evening into a Bollywood Dhamaka, keeping dancers moving until midnight.
As the clock struck 12, the event wrapped up with a volunteer group picture—a fitting finale to a night made possible by the dedication of countless volunteers.

From the buzzing photo booth and kid-friendly activities to the endless dancing and delicious food, SEF Dandia Dhamaka 2025 was a community festival with a cause. Every clap, twirl, and beat helped bring light into someone’s life through sight-restoring surgeries funded by Sankara Eye Foundation.
Once again, Austin proved that when tradition and compassion meet, the result is nothing short of extraordinary.
