Welcome to Foundations TV! Today, we're visiting Ruma's Kitchen where she demonstrates how to make a delightful and healthy Turkey Meatball Curry. Ruma has been sharing her popular recipes on our website, and now, she’s showing us her unique cooking techniques in person.

In this video, Ruma shares her inspiration for creating an Indian twist on the classic American meatball, combining her own healthy preparation methods with traditional Indian flavors. This dish has become a favorite in her family, especially loved by her son who requests it every time he comes home from college.


  • 1 lb ground turkey

  • 1 tsp whole cumin seeds

  • 1 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1 tsp ginger powder

  • 1 tsp cumin powder

  • 1 tsp garlic powder

  • 1/4 tsp chili powder

  • 4 cardamoms

  • 6-7 cloves

  • 1 inch cinnamon stick

  • 1 tbsp salt (for boiling)

  • 2 tbsp oil (for cooking)

  • 1 potato, chopped

Cooking Steps:

  1. Prepare the meatballs using a potato masher.

  2. Boil the meatballs in salted water to remove excess fat.

  3. In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds.

  4. Gradually add turmeric, ginger, cumin, and garlic powders.

  5. Add the boiled meatballs to the pan, followed by chopped potato.

  6. Mix in the whole garam masalas (cardamoms, cloves, cinnamon stick).

  7. Add water to create a thick gravy and simmer for 10 minutes.
